How do I exclude empty grades in my gradebook?

To enable the "Exclude Empty Grades" setting (ensures grades missing from the gradebook are not used in the aggregation)

  1. Go to Gradebook Setup, then click Edit > Edit settings for the desired gradebook or category (not individual assignments).
  2. Click the Show more... link in the Grade Category under the aggregation setting. 
  3. Enable Exclude empty grades 
  4. Scroll down and click Save

          

Once this has been enabled the grades will appear as they should in the course total. Missing assignments will need to be manually imputed as a 0 for them to count in the course calculation.
