How do I backup an old Moodle course?
Answer
Find the Administration box on the left side of the course and click Backup
1. With check marks, select the Backup settings of the course you wish to backup then click Next
2. The second page will display all of the selected components, scroll to the bottom and click Next
3. Next a confirmation page will display and include a field with the name of the backup file: "backup-moodle2-courseinfo.mbz". View the page to verify options selected then scroll to the bottom and click Perform Backup
4. A message will appear giving you confirmation when the backup is Complete, click Continue
- 4a. When you click continue to see the available backups for your course. You may download the backup file as an archive or potentially for future use
*You can also backup and restore an existing course into a new semester.
