The Wardman Library offers free interlibrary loan (ILL) services that allows Whittier College students, staff, and faculty to request books or articles that the Library does not own from other libraries.

LINK+ is a free, easy, and convenient book request service that allows users at over 50 participating academic and public libraries to request items that are not available at their own institution. After a Wardman Library user initiates a LINK+ request and it is fulfilled by another library in the network, a courier delivers the requested book(s) to our Library for you to checkout, generally in two to four days. Users will receive an email once the item has arrived.

ILL, or Interlibrary Loan, is a typically free service used to request journal articles or books that are not available in our collection or LINK+. Books are sent through the mail and may take two or more weeks to arrive. Requests for articles and book chapters are usually e-mailed within 2-5 days.

Both services are to be used when materials are not available at Wardman Library, but LINK+ is more commonly used for books whereas ILL is most efficient for journal article requests.
